In search of some green and fresh air we found a strip of green on the map. We took our metro line to the one-but-last stop and to our surprise... it wasn't all green and lushy, but rather a building site. And the park looked fabulous but was locked.
It wouldn't make sense to go back home on a sunny day with clear skies like that. We walked a little further, still looking for that green promising spot. And to our surprise, we ran into a Disneyland-style neighbourhood and a little later into a whole area with German style timbered houses. All empty by the way.
We gave it a last shot and looked for a little river that we saw on the map, leading all the way to the Huangpu. And oh joy, there it was, a little strip of nature, suburbia now as far as the horizon. A great place to spend a sunny Sunday.
